Education, Culture And of Human Rights… and More is What Somalia Needs!
Well Done Minneapolis Somalis! I am so happy that you demonstrated and showed the world what is happening. The reality is: We need Warlords out of the parliament and now! We need a non Clannish government. We need Peace and Democracy. We need so many things that this new government cannot deliver. They are not qualified for the job that they have to undertake as you all know. They are tribal and clannish as we all have seen. One good thing is: At least they have to compose with us to say no we do not agree with you and we are looking for better solutions! Are they going to listen? Are we going to give them the benefit of the doubt? Dadaab, Ifo, Malta, and all the refugee camps all over the world is waiting for a viable government that can assume and welcome them back home. When they declared that they are looking for the Somalia assets overseas, did they talk about the homes of people who are destitute today and who are in refugee camps or dying everywhere? Did they organize a commission that will look after the refugees and ensure that they came home? To what and when and where will they come home to? Why are they looking for more arms? Who will they use these arms for? There are many questions here about arms! Does Somalia need more arms and for what and for whom? After all you all left Somalia because of criminals of war who massacred and killed and maimed so many of our people and families! You in America and elsewhere left because of civil war and no peace. You left because of people who were armed up to their teeth and destroying the country and threatening you. We all became refugees because of what happened in Somalia. You are in America because of what happened in Somalia. When they say forget about the past and think about tomorrow, what do they mean? How can I forget about the past? I have to think about what happened in the past to prepare for the future! I need to know if they know what they did to my country! I need to know why they did it. I need to know if they are sorry! I need to say this will never happen again. I need to say I am taking responsibility so that this will never ever happen again!
To all of you I say: I believe in a united Somalia and the best for all of us but I need to know that there is no impunity! Crimes that have been committed in Somalia have to be known and answered for. War criminals have no place in a new Somali government. They should not be in the police forces, military,and in parliament; they should not be in any position of responsibility. They should not be any where accept courts! They should be answering for their crimes. This is to show and to make Somali people know that Law and order are important and part of our lives.
You cannot repeat genocide and be immune and continue to tell us it is all right! No, it is not alright and generations have to learn of what happened to Somalia. You cannot right wrong doings with another wrong doing telling us you are righting things! The Idiot never learns from his mistakes. We do not want a criminal state!
